Hospice of St. Francis utilizes an interdisciplinary team approach to provide patients and their loved ones with physical, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual services as they face life's ultimate challenge.

The HOSF team consists of registered nurses, home health aides, social workers, bereavement and spiritual counselors and trained volunteers. In addition, the services of physical and occupational therapists, speech pathologists and dietary consultants are readily available.

HOSF provides services to patients and their families that have been accepted into hospice care through the following criteria:

  • The patient must live within the geographic boundaries of Brevard County

  • There must be an attending Florida licensed physician from whom consent for hospice care is received and cooperation with hospice program parameters is obtained

  • The patient must have a documented life threatening illness which in the normal progression of the disease would have a prognosis of six months or less of life

  • The HOSF medical director must agree with the decision to accept the patient

No person shall be refused services because of age, race, sex, color, national origin, handicap or ability to pay. HOSF continues to provide services as long as the patient needs and wants hospice care, regardless of their financial resources.
